Works of Mercy — Grey Chapel's Exchange Program
Grey Chapel does not ask you to send anything back. If something isn't right, we make it right.
The short version
- 30 days, any reason. Wrong size, changed your mind, didn't love it? Reach out to us.
- Keep the original item. We never ask for it back, and we never ask you to pay for return shipping.
- We'll send a replacement or exchange for the correct size, color, or a different design of equal value, at no cost to you.
- Donate the original and earn $10 store credit per item. Take a photo or video as proof of donation (to an organization is preferable, but other donations will be considered), then send it to us. Once approved, you'll get $10 store credit. This is optional, but appreciated. We consider it a work of mercy, not a requirement.
How it works
- Contact us within 30 days of delivery using the site's contact form with your order number and what you'd like exchanged.
- We'll confirm the replacement (size, design, etc.) and ship it — no return of the original item needed.
- If you choose to donate the original piece, send us a photo or video showing the donation once it's made. We'll issue $10 in store credit per donated item.
- Multiple exchanges on one order must be requested together, in a single request — not submitted one at a time. Store credit is calculated per item within that batch (e.g., 2 items exchanged and donated on one order = up to $20 in credit).
- Store credit is issued once per exchanged item, per order, and only with proof of donation.
Note: Works of Mercy is intended to bring good from a bad or awkward situation. If we believe or find that you are or are attempting to abuse the system to continuously claim credits or receive free items (claiming an exchange on every order, using AI to generate a false donation image to claim a credit, etc...), you will no longer be able to claim exchanges or store credits through Works of Mercy. We promise to be fair in our judgement, we ask that you be the same in your actions.
Refunds
Because every exchange is free, fast, and doesn't require sending anything back, we don't offer cash refunds for standard exchanges (size, preference, etc.) — we make it right with a replacement instead.
Defective, damaged, or misprinted items are the one exception: if what you received is materially defective or not what you ordered at all, you're entitled to a free replacement or, if you prefer, a refund to your original payment method. Contact us with your order number and a photo of the issue and we'll sort it out quickly.
Nothing in this policy limits any refund, replacement, or repair rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
Timing
Replacement items are produced and shipped by our print partner once your request is confirmed. Store credit, when applicable, is typically issued within a few business days of receiving your donation proof.
